Musings about a Michael.

Am I the only one who thinks Michael Jackson killed himself? The doctor being investigated in his death says that's the case, although he doesn't say it was on purpose. But it entered my head the instant I heard he died shortly after his 50th birthday.

Think about it. The guy was a nutjob. Ok fine, we'll use the more polite term eccentric. He did a lot of strange things to further his fame and notoriety, and some that didn't seem to serve any purpose. What better way to go down in history (ala Elvis) than to die at the milestone age of 50 with a final record in the works? He'll be adored and revered for all eternity just like Elvis, and he would have known that. He also had to know that thanks to the things he did to his face, he wouldn't age gracefully.

Don't get me wrong. While not a fan, I do appreciate his contributions to music and dance. Elvis is revered for the same reasons, but I don't think he killed himself. He was just a victim of his own excesses. Michael, I have my doubts. He was obsessive about his "health", and other than the drugs he had access to and the things he did to himself, was probably in fairly good shape.

I'd even go so far as to say he had help. He could pay someone (that doctor?) to provide him with the drugs to do the job. Who knows but the ones involved...that record may have been finished before he died.

Just saying.

Happy New Year from The Wee Dark Hours.
